South America Trips

From the sprawling capital city of Buenos Aires, all the way down to the bustling port town of Ushuaia at the End of the World, the country of Argentina is rich in Latin history, culture, majestic wildlife and Spanish-speaking people. It’s also known as the “Birthplace of the Argentine Tango”.

It’s the largest country in South America and it’s home to such famous, Portuguese-speaking cities as Rio de Janeiro, Salvadore and São Paulo. It also holds the breathtaking site known as Iguazú Falls which is widely considered to be one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

From Santiago to Tierra del Fuego, this long, narrow country borders Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and the Pacific Ocean. It also shares the title as having the “Southernmost Point of South America” and being located at the “End of the World” with the neighboring country of Argentina.

Quito, Tena and Guayaquil are just a few of the thriving cities Ecuador has to offer. Yet, whether you decide to stay in town, go trekking through the Amazon Rainforest or hike the Andes Mountains, you’ll find plenty of things to do while you’re there.

Falkland Islands

Technically located in the Antarctica Zone of South America, the Falkland Islands are home to such cool penguin sightseeing spots as Volunteer Point, Bluff Cove Lagoon, Bleaker Island and Gypsy Cove.

Peru is a country rich with heritage, breathtaking views and indigenous culture. Though it is known for such adventurous locations as Cusco and Machu Picchu, there are still a lot of other wonders waiting to be found. Once you arrive, be sure to try the brasserie-style chicken and fresh, warm picarones. Yum!

Considered part of the “Southern Cone Region” of South America, Uruguay has plenty to offer from the beautiful, sun-soaked beaches running up and down its coastline, to its capital city of Montevideo that was once home to a Spanish citadel. Along with the country of Argentina, it also shares the title as the “Birthplace of the Tango”.
